More than 200 people got their first look at the Municipal Art Society's exciting new exhibit of text, images and multimedia, Jane Jacobs and the Future of New York, on Tuesday night's opening reception. Developed over the past six months by the MAS with funding from the Rockefeller Foundation, the innovative exhibition is the main component of a major civic engagement and education program this fall -- including seven public programs and eight walking tours -- that aims to encourage New Yorkers to observe their neighborhood, recognize the best of the city, and become activists advocating for positive change.
